Reds Vs. Rockies: Jose Lopez Wins Game For Rockies, 3-2, On Walkoff Single

The Colorado Rockies defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 3-2, on a walkoff single by Jose Lopez in the bottom of the ninth. It came to that because Sean White blew the save opportunity in the top of the inning. He allowed a leadoff single to Jeremy Hermida and then saw Chris Heisey drive him in on a double.

In the bottom of the inning, Matt Macri reached first on a ground ball single to right field and then advanced to second on a Willy Taveras sacrifice bunt. Lopez then hit the game-winning single that, according to Purple Row's Andrew Fisher, was a 350-foot shot to right center.

The Rockies scored their two other runs in the third inning on a Jordan Pacheco double and a Seth Smith single. According to Troy Renck, Jordan Pacheco will play at first, second and third in the coming days.

Jhoulys Chacin struck out four Reds in five innings and allowed one run on a hit and two walks. Rex Brothers struck out two in one inning of work, including Rex Brothers.

On Tuesday, the Rockies send Esmil Rogers to the mound against Randy Wells the Chicago Cubs. First pitch is scheduled for 2:05 p.m. MT.
