Rockies Vs. Brewers: Todd Helton Collects Two Doubles, But Rox Need Extra Innings To Win

It took an extra inning and a nervous bottom of the 10th to do it, but the Colorado Rockies pulled out a 9-8 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. After Sean White blew the save in the bottom of the ninth, the Rockies answered with three runs in the top of the 10th, but had to sweat it out when Casey Weathers allowed two runs with no outs in the bottom of the fame. However, Weathers was able to get three straight outs to end the game.

Todd Helton looked good with two doubles and two RBI. Willy Taveras also provided offense for the team with three hits, three runs scored and three stolen bases. Charlie Blackmon hit a triple and stole a base when after entering the game in the sixth inning.

Esmil Rogers' final line is marred a bit by the three-run home run he surrendered to Ryan Braun in the third inning, but in the other three frames he limited them to no runs. He struck out four Brewers. He remains the most viable candidate to be the team's fifth starter once the season starts.

The Rockies return to Salt River Fields on Friday to host the Kansas City Royals at 1:05 p.m. MT. Jason Hammel duels with Luke Hochevar.
