Troy Renck of the Denver Post reported earlier today that pitcher Aaron Cook missed his scheduled bullpen session on Sunday due to soreness in his right shoulder. While trainer Keith Dugger wants Cook to rest for a few days, there is no indication on the extent of the soreness.
This won't be a concern if he misses only a few days, but there are other pitchers who could take advantage of the opportunity should Cook be out for an extended period of time. Cook is the favorite to take the last spot in the rotation, but Felipe Paulino and Esmil Rogers could take his spot. Paulino, who was acquired in the offseason for Clint Barmes, and Rogers both have the bullpen as a fallback should Cook falter.
Is this much ado about nothing or will it turn into something serious?
