2012 MLB World Series Odds: Colorado Rockies Sitting Comfortably In Middle

For a team that finished the 2011 season with a 73-89 record, the Colorado Rockies haven't been terribly handicapped by the odds makers in their early 2012 MLB World Series odds. Over at Bodog, the Rockies have 25/1 odds to win the 2012 World Series.

The Rockies are grouped with the Chicago Cubs and the Cincinnati Reds, which means the Rockies have no shot at the World Series since they have the same odds as the hapless team that is plagued by the curse of the billy goat (if one believes in such superstitious nonsense).

The odds makers might actually be a bit too generous in having the Rockies in the top 15 teams to win the World Series. This team isn't going to make splashes in free agency; it doesn't have a stud pitcher anchoring the rotation; and at best the Rockies appear at the moment ready to muddle through the 2012 season.

Maybe general manager Dan O'Dowd is actually the one making the odds.
