Troy Tulowitzki Named To Sporting News 2011 NL All-Star Team

Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki was named to the 2011 Sporting News National League All-Star Team on Thursday. The award was voted on by 29 National League executives and he was the only Rockies player they voted in this year,

In 2011, Tulowitzki hit. 302/.372/.544 with 30 home runs and 105 RBI. Among all National League shortstops, Tulowitzki was the leader in Wins Above Replacement (WAR) at 6.3. He beat the New York Mets' Jose Reyes by 0.1

When the BBWAA releases its awards in November, expect Tulowitzki to garner votes on many ballots. While it is unlikely he'll finish as high as fifth this year, Tulowitzki could still be in the Top 10.
