Carlos Gonzalez To Arrive In Denver On Sunday Following Visa Issues

The Colorado Rockies and outfielder Carlos Gonzalez will need to wait until early next week to finalize the reported seven-year, $80 million contract that emerged on Monday afternoon. Gonzalez's publicist tweeted on Tuesday night that CarGo, as fans have nicknamed him, will receive his visa to travel to the United States on Wednesday and fly to Denver on Sunday. Originally, it was expected Gonzalez would arrive in the States on either Wednesday or Thursday, take his physical and then sign the contract.

According to the Denver Post's Troy Renck, Gonzalez will take his physical on Tuesday to complete the new contract.

As Purple Row noted earlier on Tuesday, Gonzalez is one of several players who is excited to play for the Rockies. It appears as though the Rockies' window for a run at a World Series has widened a bit over the last month or so.

Denver is fast becoming a Rockies town these days.
