Rockies' Carlos Gonzalez, Ubaldo Jimenez Win Local Awards

The Colorado Chapter of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America voted local awards to the Colorado Rockies' outfielder Carlos Gonzalez, pitchers Ubaldo Jimenez and Jhoulys Chacin and shortstop Clint Barmes, reports Jack Etkin of InsideTheRockies.com.

Carlos Gonzalez, the third-place finisher in NL MVP, was the Rockies Player of the Year, and Ubaldo Jimenez, who finished third in NL Cy Young voting, was the unanimous choice for Rockies Pitcher of the Year. Jhoulys Chacin was the team's rookie of the year. Clint Barmes won the Good Guy of the Year award for how he handled himself with the media, especially after he lost his starting position at second base and had to deal with his father's fight with cancer.

In 2009, Ubaldo Jimenez also won the Pitcher of the Year. Other winners in 2009 included shortstop Troy Tulowitzki (Player of the Year), outfielder Dexter Fowler (Rookie of the Year) and reliever Huston Street (Good Guy of the Year).
