Diamondbacks Lead Rockies 7-2 After Five Innings

The Diamondbacks took advantage of the Rockies for three consecutive innings, scoring a total of seven runs. Kelly Johnson hit a two-run homer in the third inning, and in the fourth Stephen Drew drove in one on a single.

In the fifth inning, Esmil Rogers labored on the mound and paid a dear price for it. Rogers may have escaped after allowing only a run, but Johnny Herrera committed a throwing error that kept the inning alive. Stephen Drew tripled in two more runs to give the Diamondbacks a 7-2 lead.
