MLS Standings 2012: Rapids Seventh In Western Conference

The Colorado Rapids remain on the outside of the playoff picture, following a 2-0 loss to the Los Angeles Galaxy late last week.

Colorado's record now stands at 9-18-2, good for 29 points and seventh place in the Western Conference. The top five teams in each conference qualify for postaseason play.

Currently, the fifth place team in the Western Conference is Vancouver, as the Whitecaps have 37 points. FC Dallas is hot on Vancouver's heels with 36 points, while Colorado remains a distant seventh with 29 points.

Colorado is just one point ahead of Portland and Chivas USA, who are both tied for last place in the Western Conference with 28 points.

The Rapids will take on Vancouver on Sept. 23, as Colorado looks to try to get back into the playoff picture.
