The Colorado Rapids head on the road to face the San Jose Earthquakes at Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara on Saturday night
Colorado is coming off a 1-1 draw with Chivas USA on Aug. 18 and will have their hands full against the first place Earthquakes. As good as their 14-6-5 and first place standing indicates, the Earthquakes are beatable. San Jose dropped their last match to the Montreal Impact 3-1 on the road.
Playoff hopes for Colorado are dim as the Rapids are currently 11 points behind the Vancouver Whitecaps for the fifth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
