Rapids Vs. Sporting K.C. Recap: Rapids Come Back For 2-2 Tie

The Colorado Rapids didn't exactly start Saturday's match vs. Sporting Kansas City down 2-0, but after allowing two goals in the first 14 minutes, they might as well have. Both goals came from the foot of Sporting K.C.'s Teal Bunbury, and all things considered, the fact that Rapids came back to achieve a 2-2 tie could almost be considered something close to a victory.

Bunbury got the scoring under way in the match's second minute, and he followed that goal up with another in the 14th minute. Sporting KC would exit the first half with that 2-0 lead, but they wouldn't hold it for long after that. In the 52nd minute, Tyrone Marshall got the Rapids on the board with his first goal of the season. Not too long thereafter, Kosuke Kimura tied the match in the 60th minute with his first goal of the season.

The Rapids defense also clamped down after that embarrassing first 15 minutes, only allowing two more shots on goal for the rest of the game.
