Cummings is a six-year Major League Soccer veteran and a member of the Jamaican National Team. He led the Rapids with 14 goals during the 2010 season and has a total of 36 goals and 26 assists in his career.

"Omar is one of the longest-serving members of our team, and has been a positive presence both on and off the field for years," said Technical Director Paul Bravo. "His talent, speed and work rate have made him an All-Star and an MLS Cup winner, and we’re pleased to extend his contract."

Colorado's next game is against Sporting Kansas City on Saturday.
