D.C. United cruised to a 2-0 win over the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday at RFK Stadium. Colorado put more shots on goal (15-13) and won the battle for possession by having the ball 52.5 percent of the game, but it didn't matter. United put far more shots on target (10-2), overwhelming Colorado keeper Matt Pickens.
Dwayne De Rosario got the scoring started in the 25th minute when he buried a shot past Pickens off a feed from Lewis Neal. The score would remain 1-0 until the 60th minute, when D.C.'s Hamdi Salihi scored unassisted to make it 2-0. The score would hold and United picked up the home victory.
