MLS Standings 2012: Colorado Rapids In 8th Place, Face Chivas USA On Saturday

Coming off a loss to the Los Angeles Galaxy, the Colorado Rapids remain near the bottom of Major League Soccer's Western Conference, right behind their upcoming opponents Chivas USA. Both have three wins, four losses, and no ties, leaving them even with nine points. The full standings are:

Team Record Pts.

1) San Jose 5-1-1 16

2) Real Salt Lake 5-3-0 15

3) Vancouver 3-2-2 11

4) Seattle 3-1-1 10

5) FC Dallas 3-3-1 10

6) Los Angeles 3-3-0 9

7) Chivas USA 3-4-0 9

8) Colorado 3-4-0 9

9) Portland 2-4-1 7

Chivas is ranked above the Rapids because of a better goal differential and a better W-L record in their last 5, 3-2 to Colorado's 1-4. A direct victory over Chivas would change that, and the Rapids have a chance at just that Saturday, April 28th at 9:00 pm EST. The two teams last met in August of last year, settling for a 2-2 tie.
