Rapids win, 4-1

The Rapids managed to score more goals than they had at any other point this season while crushing the Philadelphia Union at home today.

Omar Cummings had two completely beautiful goals in the first half. Perfect clinical finishing on both. Late in the game Wells Thompson and Quincey Amarikwa added a goal a piece. Amarikwa should have had two goals, but he completely fell down in the box on a chance off a Macoumba Kandji rebound. Jack McInerney got a goal in garbage time to salvage a bit of Union pride.

The points today give the Rapids 41 total, more than they had all of last season and almost guaranteeing them a playoff spot unless they manage to somehow lose out for the rest of their 2010 campaign.
