Might a championship be in the air Sunday night? The Colorado Rapids could bring home an MLS Cup from Toronto early in the week. The Denver Broncos and the Colorado Buffaloes both picked up much needed wins over the weekend, but did they improve their lots significantly? This week's rankings:

8. Colorado State Rams

Last Week's CPR: 6

The BYU Cougars routed the Rams last weekend, 49-10. The Rams play their final game of the season this Saturday against the Wyoming Cowboys. Maybe head coach Steve Fairchild and quarterback Pete Thomas can end the season on a high note.

7. Colorado Buffaloes

Fan Confidence Score: 73
Last Week's CPR: 8

Winning breeds confidence, right? That's certainly what happened after the Buffaloes won their first game for interim head coach Brian Cabral last weekend. Can that confidence carry over when they play the Kansas State Wildcats on Saturday?

The basketball team is off to a 1-1 start, defeating Idaho State and losing to Georgia. Alec Burks was recently to the 2010-2011 Naismith Preseason List.

6. Denver Broncos

Fan Confidence Score: 70
Last Week's CPR: 7

The Broncos beat up the Kansas City Chiefs, 49-29, last Sunday, which was exactly what everyone wanted to see the team do after the bye week. Can they come back with that same intensity this Monday in San Diego?

5. Colorado Rockies

Fan Confidence Score: 69
Last Week's CPR: 3

Postseason awards and recognition are nice, but losing Jorge De La Rosa is of greater concern for the Rockies. The team just traded Clint Barmes to the Houston Astros for Felipe Paulino, who could prove to be a valuable contributor if he harnesses the power of his arm.

4. Air Force Falcons

Last Week's CPR: 5

The Falcons are 7-4 on the season after defeating New Mexico, 48-23. The Academy is still expected to play in the Independence Bowl and finishes the regular season tonight with a game against UNLV.

3. Denver Nuggets

Fan Confidence Score: 61
Last Week's CPR: 2

Last week, the Nuggets sent the then 8-0 Los Angeles Lakers to their first defeat, but then lost again in Phoenix, 100-94, on Monday. It has been over six years since the Nuggets have defeated the Suns in Phoenix. After defeating the Knicks on Tuesday, the Nuggets are now 6-5 on the season. Melo's future, as always, continues to hang over the team.

2. Colorado Avalanche

Fan Confidence Score: 75
Last Week's CPR: 3

The Avalanche are 3-1 over their last four games with impressive wins over Columbus and St. Louis, and then there was that amazing comeback against the San Jose Sharks last night. Injuries have hurt this team, but the players keep on going. Craig Anderson is finally practicing again, which works out well. Peter Budaj has started every game since Anderson went down on Oct. 26. They are only two points behind the Vancouver Canucks for the lead in the Northwest division.

1. Colorado Rapids

Fan Confidence Score: 96
Last Week's CPR: 1

MLS Cup Championship Game on Sunday night! Can the Rapids defeat FC Dallas for their first championship? Will anyone care?
