It has been ten days since the Colorado Buffaloes hired Mike MacIntyre as their head football coach, and the decision has earned an exemplary grade from Pat Forde of Yahoo! Sports.
Forde doesn't give Mike Bohn and Colorado a perfect grade, however, dealing an A-minus to the Buffs for not targeting MacIntyre in the first place. Still, Forde writes: "After seven straight losing seasons and with the program in turmoil, the Buffaloes did not enter this hiring process in a position of strength - but they got a guy who looks like the right fit."
MacIntyre brings a bevy of experience to Colorado after his first head coaching stint resulted in the rapid turnaround of the San Jose State Spartans. His season records at San Jose State were 1-12, 5-7, and this year's 10-2 mark, which has the Spartans ranked for only the second time in school history.
Prior to San Jose State, MacIntyre had college defensive coordinator experience at Duke and Temple, and was a defensive assistant in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Jets.
