Mike MacIntyre to name SJSU assistants Kent Baer, Brian Lindgren to Colorado football staff

Mike MacIntyre is expected to name former San Jose State coordinators Kent Baer and Brian Lindgren to his Colorado staff.

Mike MacIntyre's hire to the Colorado Buffaloes left a few holes open in the coordinator roles, and it looks like those holes will be filled by MacIntyre's old coordinators from San Jose State.

Kent Baer, the former defensive coordinator for the Spartans, was on the shortlist of names to take over MacIntyre's old job. He did not end up getting it, and he's now expected to take on the D-coordinator role with the Buffs. He will remain the interim coach for the Spartans during the Military Bowl game against Bowling Green.

Former offensive coordinator Brian Lindgren is also going to join the Buffaloes and run the same Pistol offense as he did in San Jose, according to MacIntyre.

Baer and Lindgren helped to build one of the most surprisingly efficient teams in the country this season -- their defense was the 28th ranked in the country, and their offense was the third best in school history with 35.3 points per game scored.

The two coordinators are expected to be named to their new jobs with the Buffs when MacIntyre eventually names his full staff.
