With Jon Embree out of his job after a terrible 2012 campaign with the Colorado Buffaloes, it hasn't taken long for people to start putting together lists of possible candidates to take his position. Athletic Director Mike Bohn has already started putting together a search for a new head man, though the list of candidates is probably going to be fairly sparse considering the state of the program as of now.
Most of the names currently being thrown out for the position are guys who have good resumes from smaller schools around the country in recent years. The Denver Post has names like former target Troy Calhoun of Air Force and another recently fired guy, Jeff Tedford, formerly of California. In the "smaller school" names, they also throw out Sonny Dykes and Mike MacIntyre, who led Louisiana Tech and San Jose State to great records in 2012.
The Ralphie Report's list is similar, adding Tim DeRuyter of Fresno State and Gary Andersen of Utah State into the mix. They also toss an interesting local into the mix -- Colorado School of Mines coach Bob Stitt.
There are plenty of names that can and will probably be thrown into the hat as the school looks for a man to dig it out of the hole that it fell into in 2012, so there's no guarantee that any of these guys will actually be the hire in the end.
