Looking to halt a six-game losing streak, Jon Embree's Colorado Buffaloes will square off with the No. 25 Washington Huskies this Saturday afternoon in a nationally-televised Pac-12 game.
The Buffaloes beat Washington State, 35-34, back on Sept. 22 in their only victory of the season, and have given up an average of 52.8 points per game over their last six losses. While the 31 points that Embree's team produced on Saturday represented its second-highest total of the year, Colorado's woeful defense still allowed opposing Arizona tailback Ka'Deem Carey to break the all-time Pac-12 single-game rushing record with 366 yards.
Colorado quarterbacks Connor Wood and Nick Hirschman each saw the field in the team's most recent loss, although Hirschman's availability against Washington could be limited due to a concussion suffered in Week 11. Making his first start of the year in place of ineffective junior Jordan Webb, Hirschman completed 12 of his 13 passes for 123 yards before being forced to the sideline with the head injury.
