Colorado Buffaloes tight end Nick Kasa was unable to play in the second half against Arizona due to a concussion.

Colorado Buffaloes tight end Nick Kasa experienced concussion-like symptoms during the team's 56-31 loss to the Arizona Wildcats. Kasa left during the first half, and Colorado ruled him out for the rest of the game during halftime.

The senior had recently been named to the John Mackey Award midseason watch list. The award is presented to college football's best tight end on Dec. 6, at the Home Depot College Football Awards Show.

Kasa had a strong start to the season, with 20 catches for 340 yards and three touchdowns. He had zero receptions on Saturday before leaving the game.

The struggling Buffaloes will miss Kasa if he is forced to sit out more games. The tight end had the second most receiving yards on the team and had been a reliable target for whichever Colorado quarterback was throwing the ball. The team listed freshman Vincent Hobbs as Kasa's backup for Saturday's game, and he had one reception for 14 yards in Kasa's absence.
