The Colorado Buffaloes announced Saturday morning that sophomore Nick Hirschman will start this week's game against the Arizona Wildcats. Hirschman takes the place of junior Jordan Webb, who started the Buffaloes first nine games of the season.

Head coach Jon Embree announced earlier this week that Hirschman and fellow sophomore Connor Wood were in competition for the starting job after Webb was benched in consecutive weeks. Embree added that he's not ruling out using Webb and that he would be the team's primary back up. All three quarterbacks played last week during Colorado's 48-0 loss to Stanford.

The Wildcats will also likely be without their starting quarterback. Matt Scott is listed as doubtful with lingering effects of a concussion he suffered two weeks ago against USC. If Scott is out, B.J. Denker will likely start in Scott's place.

The Buffaloes and Wildcats kick off at 11:30 a.m. MT. The game will be televised by FX.
