Arizona State vs. Colorado 2012: Another 2nd-half collapse from Buffaloes

The Colorado Buffaloes dropped another game on Thursday, this time a 51-17 loss to the Arizona State Sun Devils at Folsom Field.

It wasn't as bad as the score looked, at least in the first half. In fact, the Buffaloes actually had a very manageable game on their hands at halftime. The offense and defense had both played solid football, trailing down 20-17 at the half. Unfortunately for CU, it went downhill quickly as they gave up a quick touchdown and looked listless from that point on.

CU blog The Ralphie Report said the second-half collapse was just another case of deja vu for the 1-5 Buffs:

The Buffaloes once again fell apart in the second half at home after a strong turn at the end of the second quarter let them head into the locker room down by only a field goal.

All that hope and momentum was quickly dashed when Rashad Ross took the opening kickoff of the second half 100 yards and silenced a suddenly energized Folsom crowd. From there the Sun Devils followed the lead of the Bruins two weeks ago and carved up a suddenly nowhere to be found Buffalo defense.

Things won't get much easier for the Buffaloes in coming weeks, as they face off against the USC Trojans on Oct. 20 and the Oregon Ducks the week after that.
