Colorado Vs. Washington State: Buffs Need To Have 'Fun,' Says Jon Embree

From the outside, whatever it is that the Colorado Buffaloes have done this season does not appear to have been fun. From the inside, head coach Jon Embree agrees that it has not been fun.

The Buffaloes are 0-3, and that includes a loss at home to Sacramento State. Embree told B.G. Brooks at CUBuffs.com that pressure has gotten to his team on game days:

"We're talking to the team about having fun. When they get into games, they get so robotic. With all the hard work you put in, the game is when you're supposed to have fun. We're not doing that."

So Embree had a separate 10-minute meeting earlier this week with each of the 70 players that were set to travel to Saturday's game at the Washington State Cougars. The point of the meetings were to reassure each player and ask each player to relax and have fun Saturday.

Though there is very little fun about giving up 476.3 yards per game, and that's what the Buffaloes have done through three games in 2012. Their pass efficiency defense is 119th in FBS out of 120 teams, which is not a desirable number to have going into a game against a Mike Leach-led Cougars team.

The game kicks off Saturday at 2 p.m. MT on FX.
