Colorado Vs. Fresno State: Jordan Webb, Connor Wood Will Both Play QB

Colorado is going to use two quarterbacks on Saturday when they take on Fresno State. Jordan Webb will remain the starter under center after the Buffaloes 0-2 start, but coach Jon Embree intends to use sophomore quarterback Connor Wood early in the contest as well. Via Colorado football's twitter feed:

Wood, the Texas transfer, was beaten out by Webb in the preseason. He's had one snap under center for the Buffaloes, and he completed a 28-yard pass with that snap this past Saturday. Quarterbacks coach Rip Scherer had the following to say about getting Wood into the game:

This is not a reflection on Jordan. I think it's important in college football to get your backup guys some snaps early in a game potentially, just so if he does have to play down the road because of an injury (to the starter), he's not just thrown in there for the first time, or his duty has not only been 'clean-up' duty.

Colorado will kick off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. MT Saturday from Fresno's Bulldog Stadium.
