The Colorado State Rams lead the Colorado Buffaloes 3-0 after the first quarter in the 2012 Rocky Mountain Showdown from Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver.
CSU kicker Jared Roberts got the Rams on the board at 8:16 in the first quarter with a 47-yard field goal. The opening quarter was mostly a defensive struggle, as the Rams tallied just 55 yards compared with CU's 43. Neither team turned the ball over in the quarter, although the Buffs almost fumbled away a punt near the end of the frame.
Colorado quarterback Jordan Webb was 6-of-10 for 62 yards in his first game at his new school, while Colorado State QB Garrett Grayson went 3-for-6 passing for 30 yards.
