The Colorado Buffaloes men's basketball team leaves today for Europe, where the squad will play five exhibition games in 10 days. Head coach Tad Boyle's Buffs will travel to France, Belgium and The Netherlands on the trip.

This marks the third time Colorado has sent its basketball team afar and the second time the Buffaloes have gone to Europe. CU played German and English teams in 1997 and also traveled to Vancouver in 2006.

The Pac-12 Champions from a year ago are led by junior forward Andre Roberson and sophomore Spencer Dinwiddie, and the European exhibition will provide experience for a roster loaded with young talent. Boyle's squad has six true freshmen entering the 2012-13 season.

Opponents for the Buffaloes include AMW France Elite, who CU will play twice, and Optima Ghent, a Belgian squad. They'll wrap up the tour with a game against Gembo BBC Borgerhout, also in Belgium, and then with a final contest against Rotterdam in The Netherlands.

Colorado will return to the states on Aug. 22.
