Colorado Buffaloes wide receiver Peyton Williams will likely join defensive lineman Derek McCartney and offensive lineman Gerrad Kough as players that will grayshirt this fall, as head coach Jon Embree tells Kyle Ringo of Buffzone.com. Embree expects that at least three Buffaloes will grayshirt this year.
Embree believes that Williams, McCartney and Kough will all delay their enrollment to the University of Colorado until January, allowing them to count towards the 2013 class. Embree signed 28 recruits to letters of intent in February, but NCAA regulations only allow a program to have 25 players enroll and begin to play within a single class.
As Ringo notes, Williams was, "figured to be a candidate for a grayshirt because he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee during a state semifinal game in the Texas high school playoffs in December."
