Shannon Sharpe Transfer: Sharpe Bound For Cal Poly Pomona

Ex-Colorado Buffaloes guard Shannon Sharpe announced on Wednesday that he will be transferring to Cal Poly Pomona, in Pomona, Calif.

Cal Poly Pomona is a Division II team that plays in the CCAA conference. The basketball team has been to two Division II Final Fours, most recently in the 2009-2010 season, where they went on to win their first championship. The school also finished as runners up in 2008-2009.

Sharpe graduated from Centennial High School in Corona, Calif., which is just 30 minutes south of Pomona. Because Sharpe is transferring out of Division I, he'll be able to play immediately when he enters school as a junior.

As a redshirt sophomore last season for the Buffaloes, Sharpe played in 16 games, averaging 1.1 points per game and scoring a high of four points in three different games.
