The Colorado Buffaloes received their first verbal commitment for the 2013 recruiting class and head coach Jon Embree didn't need to go far to get his player: Denver South running back Phillip Lindsay, reports Adam Munsterteiger of BuffStampede.com:
Denver (Colo.) South RB Phillip Lindsay verbally committed to #CUBuffs. He is #Buffs' first pledge for the Class of 2013. #BuffStampede

Lindsay took an unofficial visit to Boulder over the weekend and reportedly had a great time. The Colorado St. Rams had been competing for Lindsay, as well, but new head coach Jim McElwain lost his first real battle with Embree.
Here is what our Colorado blog, Ralphie Report, has to say about bringing in Lindsay:
While it's not even April yet, it has still been rough watching other schools pile up commits while the Buffaloes waited for their first. Lindsay is a local back with good speed and an aggressive running style.
In 2013, Lindsay will be able to work with Eric Bieniemy, the Buffaloes' offensive coordinator and former star running back for the Buffaloes.
