The Denver Pioneers (22-9) won't be taking part in the 2012 National Invitation Tournament (NIT), as the announced bracket (PDF) is without them on it. This could leave the Pioneers as part of either the College Basketball Invitational or the CollegeInsider.com Tournament, but those teams have not been fully or officially announced yet.

The Middle Tenn. St. Blue Raiders, Denver's Sub Belt conference mate, did get into the NIT as a regular season conference champion. The Blue Raiders were knocked out of the conference tournament early on and received one of the NIT's bid reserved for regular season winners.
In 2011 both the Colorado Buffaloes and the Colorado St. Rams made the tournament, the former making it to the semifinals.
