The 2012 Pac-12 Tournament has taken more than one unexpected turn, after a rash of upsets the Colorado Buffaloes will matchup against the Arizona Wildcats in the championship game on Saturday afternoon. Colorado knocked off the No. 11 Utah Utes in the first round, and then pulled upsets over the No. 3 Oregon Ducks and No. 2 California Golden Bears to pave their way to the finals. Meanwhile, the Wildcats enjoyed a first-round bye, held seed against the No. 5 UCLA Bruins in round two, and then fought off a charge from the upset-minded No. 9 Oregon St. Beavers in the semis.
Now the automatic bid to March madness for the Pac-12 Conference comes down to a pair of surprising teams hungry to earn a spot in the NCAA tournament. Colorado has advanced to the championship game of the conference tournament in their first year as a member of the Pac-12, but don't expect them to be complacent with that accomplishment.
