Cal Vs. Colorado: Buffaloes Look To Put Stanford Loss Behind Them

The Colorado Buffaloes host the California Golden Bears on Sunday afternoon. The Buffs are looking to rebound from a tough loss to Stanford.

Presswire

The Colorado Buffaloes host the California Golden Bears on Sunday for its final home game of the season. The Buffs, though, are in unfamiliar territory since they are coming off their first home loss during Pac-12 play. Thursday's 74-50 loss to the Stanford Cardinal was a painful one -- the team shot just 29.6 percent from the field.

Cal enters this game at 23-6 overall (13-3 Pac-12) and in a first-place tie with the Washington Huskies. The Buffs tail them by 2.5 games, but for them to move ahead of the Bears a clean sweep through the final three games and losses in every game by the four teams ahead of them would to take the top spot in the league heading into the Pac-12 Tournament.

Colorado lost to Cal on the road on Jan. 12, 57-50. It wasn't a great game for either team with the Bears shooting 35 percent from the field and Colorado 32 percent (5-of-19 from beyond the arc). The Buffs committed 17 turnovers and 23 personal fouls.

Andre Roberson needs to rebound from his poor shooting against Stanford, 3-of-8 from the field and 3-of-11 from the line. The rebounds were there (11), but Stanford won that battle, 50-26.

Game time/date: 3:30 p.m. MT, Sunday, Feb. 26
