Stanford Vs. Colorado: Buffaloes Still Keeping Pace In Pac-12, Look To Defeat The Cardinal

The Colorado Buffaloes welcome the Stanford Cardinal to the Coors Event Center to begin the last four games of the regular season.

The Colorado Buffaloes lost to the Stanford Cardinal by 20 points, 84-64, back in the middle of January, the back end loss of a two-game losing streak in Pac-12 play. Since then the Buffaloes have gone 7-2 and are 1.5 games out of first-place in the conference. At 18-8 (10-4 Pac-12), Colorado is challenging for an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament should they not win the Pac-12 Tourney.

The Buffs, though, enter this game on a two-game winning streak, most recently beating the Utah Utes. Andre Roberson grabbed 16 rebounds for the Buffs, helping the team to a 43-26 rebounding advantage. Roberson led the team with 12 points, but it was a tough day shooting for both sides. Neither team shot above 35.8 percent from the field.

Stanford has struggled since defeating the Buffs, losing its next three games and going 3-6 overall. But at 18-9 (8-7 Pac-12), the Cardinal will only see the NCAA Tournament if it wins the Pac-12 Tournament. Josh Owens scored 20 points in a loss to Oregon on Sunday.

Game time/date: 8:30 p.m. MT, Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012

Location: Coors Event Center, Boulder CO

TV: Fox Sports Net
