There's a heavy slate of college hoops action for area teams this week, so let's take a look at the schedule.
Wednesday, January 25
5:30pm: Air Force Falcons at TCU
8pm: Colorado State Rams at New Mexico
Colorado St. had won eight straight games prior to its loss last Saturday at Wyoming. At 13-5, the Rams are still sitting pretty in second place in the Mountain West. New Mexico is no slouch either, entering at 15-4 overall, but coming off losses against ranked teams in consecutive games.
Thursday, January 26
7:00pm: Denver Pioneers vs. Arkansas State
7:05pm: Northern Colorado at Idaho State
8:30pm: Colorado Buffaloes at USC
The Pioneers lost a heart-breaker on Saturday, falling on the road to the North Texas Mean Green 75-74 in overtime. Still, at 15-5 overall and 5-2 in the Sun Belt, Denver is putting together one of its best starts in school history. A win over the Red Wolves (9-12 overall) is expected.
Saturday, January 28
2:00pm: Colorado Buffaloes at UCLA
3:00pm: Colorado State Rams vs. San Diego State
6:00pm: Denver Pioneers at Arkansas-Little Rock
7:00pm: Air Force Falcons vs. UNLV
Colorado heads into the week off back-to-back wins. The Buffaloes will need the momentum with matcups at Arizona and Arizona State looming. At 13-6, Colorado still needs a few more impressive wins to be considered for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Senior guard Carlon Brown is average a team-leading 13.4 points per game for the Buffaloes.
