In the previous Bracketology update the Colorado Buffaloes were in the field of 68, but now according to SB Nation's Chris Dobbertean the Buffs are the first team out. The Buffs are out due to George Mason falling in the CAA semi-finals to the Virginia Commonwealth Rams. The CAA was won by Old Dominion which means they received the league's auto bid and George Mason steals an at-large berth from a bubble team.
Colorado begins Big 12 tournament play on Wednesday and takes on the same Iowa State Cyclone team that the Buffs lost to last week. With George Mason stealing a bid, the Buffs will need to get past Iowa State and then take on Kansas State who they have already beaten twice this year. To be safe Colorado will most likely have to beat Kansas State to be in the bracket come Selection Sunday.
The Northern Colorado Bears have moved a seed line from 16 to 15 with the rash of upsets over the weekend from lesser conferences. The Bears are still alive in the Big Sky conference tournament and tonight take on the fourth-seeded Northern Arizona Lumberjacks. Northern Colorado must win the conference tournament to go to the NCAA tournament. Tonight's game tips at approximately 7 p.m. mountain time and can be seen on Altitude and CSN Northwest.
The Colorado St. Rams are one of the last eight teams out and will need to get past New Mexico in the first round of the Mountain West tournament. The Rams may also need to get to the finals of the MWC tournament which means they would have to get past BYU in the semi-finals.
