NCAA Basketball RPI Rankings: BYU Drops To No. 4, North Carolina Moves To No. 6

There was some juggling going on inside the top five RPI teams this week. The BYU Cougars held the top spot, but a loss to New Mexico dropped them down to No. 4. The Kansas Jayhawks, the Ohio St. Buckeyes and the San Diego St. Aztecs took the top three spots, respectively. The Duke Blue Devils and the North Carolina Tar Heels took spots No. 5 and No. 6.

For the local teams, the Colorado St. Rams have the highest RPI at No. 47, while the Colorado Buffaloes step in at No. 76. For the Rams it was a four-spot leap and for the Buffs only one spot. The Northern Colorado Bears moved up one spot to No. 113. They have a good chance of being the automatic qualifier from the Big Sky Conference, after having won the regular season title and a bye to the semifinals. They play Northern Arizona on Tuesday.
