The Big 12 Conference announced its end-of-the-season awards on Sunday and the Colorado Buffaloes had a good showing. Sophomore guard Alec Burks was a unanimous selection for the All-Big 12 First Team. Burks averaged 19.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 2010-11. Kansas State's Jacob Pullen was the only other unanimous selection.
Senior guard Cory Higgins (15.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists) made the All-Big 12 Third Team. Levi Knutson won the Sixth Man of the Year Award. Knutson averaged 12.1 points in 31 games and shot a team-best 48.9 percent from beyond the arc. Baylor's Quincy Acy also received a share of the Sixth Man of the Year Ward.
Kansas' Marcus Morris won the Player of the Year Award, while Texas' Dogus Balbay took home the Defensive Player of the Year Award. The Longhorns received another award when Tristan Thompson was named Freshman of the Year. Kansas' Bill Self won the Coach of the Year Award for the third time.
