The Colorado Buffaloes are one of the last four teams in according to ESPN's Joe Lunardi in his latest bracket projections he released on ESPN's College Scoreboard Final show Saturday night. The Buffs are back in the field after they were able to defeat the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The Buffs are the fifth-seed in the Big 12 tournament and will face 11 seed Iowa State Cyclones in round one.
While the Buffs are in at this time, to be safe they will need to beat Iowa State and quite possibly will need to beat the four-seed Kansas State Wildcats. Colorado split their series with Iowa State and beat Kansas State in both of their matchups.
After Saturday's slate of games, the Colorado St. Rams are no longer being considered as even one of the last eight teams out after their blowout lost at the hands of San Diego St. Aztecs, 66-46. Unless the Rams can make a deep run in the Mountain West tournament in order to secure a bid to the NCAA tournament, if not they will be NIT-bound. The Rams will the fifth seed in the Mountain West tournament and face the New Mexico Lobos.
The Northern Colorado Bears have not been talked about too much here since for part of league play they were not in the top spot, but they ended up winning the regular season title in the Big Sky Conference. So, the Bears will at least be heading to the NIT for winning the regular season title. The only way the Bears will make the NCAA tournament is if they win the Big Sky tournament and since they are the one-seed they will host every game their in. If they go get into the tournament then they would be a 16 seed, and as of now they are projected to face Pitt.
