NIT Tournament 2011: Colorado Leads Kent State, 36-31, At Halftime

The Colorado Buffaloes and the Kent St. Golden Flashes played a close game for most of the first half, but the Buffs emerged with a five-point lead at halftime, 36-31. Sophomore guard Alec Burks continued to show his skill on the court, leading the team with 15 points, pulling down four rebounds and stealing the ball three times.

With 75 seconds or so left in the half, the Buffs led, 32-31, but then a Cory Higgins jump shot added two points to the lead. Kent State missed their next shot and then after an Austin Dufault rebound, the Buffs took a full timeout. Alec Burks received the ball but then put it into Andre Roberson's hands to make a layup as time expired, giving the Buffs that five-point lead.

Roberson continues to be a key player off the bench. He's added five points and grabbed six rebounds so far. Cory Higgins has only four points on 2-of-8 shooting.

Justin Greene leads the Golden Flashes with 12 points, while Rodriquez Sherman and Michael Porrini each have seven points. No one else has more than two points.
