Big 12 Basketball Tournament 2011 Bracket Update: Colorado Loses To Kansas, 90-83, Now Waits For Tourney Seeding

The Colorado Buffaloes run at the Big 12 Tournament championship ended with a 90-83 loss to the Kansas Jayhawks on Friday night in the semifinals. The Buffs actually held Kansas down for the first 12 minutes of the game before allowing the Jayhawks back into the game. At the end of the first half, the Buffs were down, 43-37.

Kansas held a lead as large as 17 points in the second half before the Buffs narrowed it down to the seven-point loss that occurred. Marcus and Markieff Morris led the Kansas effort with 20 points each. Tyrel Reed and Tyshawn Taylor finished with 15 points each. The Morris Brothers combined for 21 of the team's 29 rebounds. Alec Burks, a possible draft lottery selection if he leaves school early, had a game-high 23 points to go with his five rebounds and six assists. Off the bench, Levi Knutson scored 15 of his 17 points from beyond the arc. Cory Higgins had a tough time from the field, making only one of his 11 shots. .

The Jayhawks will play the winner of the Texas-Texas A&M game on Saturday afternoon. The Buffaloes will now wait for the Sunday selection show to learn their seed and which regional they will be in. According to the latest Bracketology projections, the Buffs could be an 11-seed in the East region.
