Leading for most of the game, the Colorado Buffaloes failed to keep up the defensive pressure on the Texas A&M Aggies during the final minutes of second half and eventually lost, 73-70, in overtime.
Losing 58-52 at 3:34 in the second half, the Aggies went on an 8-2 run, capped by B.J. Holmes' game-tying three-pointer with two second left on the game clock. The Buff played it close in overtime, but came up short by missing several shots with less than 30 seconds left. Levi Knutson missed a game-tying three pointer with three seconds left on the clock.
Alec Burks led the Buffs with 24 points, five rebounds and three assists. Cory Higgins added 19 points, five rebounds and five assists. Shannon Sharpe and Andre Roberson combined for all four of the bench's points. As a team, the Buffs shot 38.7% overall from the field, but 53.8 percent from beyond the arc.
For the Aggies, Nathan Walkup scored 18 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Sophomore Khris Middleton added 11 points, five rebounds (four offensive) and six assists. The Aggies received a boost from the bench with David Loubeau's 14 points and nine rebounds.
The Buffaloes (15-10, 4-6 Big 12) face the Kansas St. Wildcats on Saturday. ESPNU will have the game at 7:00 p.m. MT.
