Boulder, CO (Sports Network) - Alec Burks scored 24 of his game-high 33 points in the second half, and the Colorado Buffaloes overcame a 22-point first-half deficit to top the fifth-ranked Texas Longhorns, 91-89, at Coors Events Center. Burks shot 10-of-21 from the field and grabbed 10 rebounds for Colorado (18-11, 7-7 Big 12), which has won three of four. Levi Knutson scored 21 points while Cory Higgins added 11 for the victors. Jordan Hamilton and J'Covan Brown both finished with 21 points to lead the Longhorns (24-5, 12-2), who have dropped two of three. Gary Johnson added 17 points while Tristan Thompson scored 16 and added eight boards in the loss. Texas shot 56 percent in the first half, but a paltry 29.4 percent in the final 20 minutes to drop its second consecutive road game. The Longhorns lost at Nebraska last Saturday.
