NCAA Bracketology: Colorado State Rams Make The Cut This Week

SB Nation's latest Bracketology projections have the Colorado St. Rams in the field of 68 for the first time this year, and they will be playing the Kansas State Wildcats in the opening round games with the winner claiming a 12 seed. Kansas State made their way into the bracket after upsetting newly minted number one team in the nation the Kansas Jayhawks.

This past week Colorado State defeated New Mexico which gave them another win against the RPI top 100 which increased the Ram's RPI to an at-large friendly ranking of 38. The Rams still have room to rise as they host UNLV and have games on the road against the San Diego St. Aztecs and BYU Cougars.

As for the Colorado Buffaloes, they are still on the outside looking and are one of the first eight teams out this week. Their season sweep of Kansas State is looking a lot better then it did before last night and could provide a boost if Kansas State continues winning. The Buffs still have the opportunity to get some big wins and move into the bracket when they host the Texas Longhorns, and travel to take on the Kansas Jayhawks.

The Mountain West now has four teams in this weeks bracket with San Diego State and BYU at a two seed with UNLV sitting at an eight seed. The Big 12 is sitting with five teams in the bracket with Texas a one seed, Kansas dropping to a two seed after their Monday night loss, Texas A&M a five seed, Missouri a six seed and Kansas State is a 12 seed but would be in the opening round against Colorado State.
