Colorado Buffaloes Final Score: Buffs Win, 58-56, After Buzzer Beater Shot Waived Off For Kasnas St.

With 1.1 seconds left on the clock, the game between the Colorado Buffaloes and the Kansas St. Wildcats came down to one final inbound pass by the 'Cats. The Buffs held a 58-56 lead when Kansas State's Rodney McGruder took the game's final shot. The shot was a success, as far as making its way through the net, but did he let go of it before the buzzer hit zero? As the referees looked at the replay, the coaches kept their teams subdued. As it turned out, the shot was waived off. The Buffs held on for a 58-56 victory.

With 32 seconds left in the game, Alec Burks made a key steal and then a bucket to put the Buffs up 56-53. Burks would go on to defend McGruder as he made that final shot. He finished with eight points and 10 rebounds. Cory Higgins led the team with 17 points. Levi Knutson added 16 points, his final two coming on free throws to put the Buffs up 58-55.

Kansas State's Jacob Pullen, who had 12 points total, missed his second free throw to make it a 58-56 contest. Jamar Samuels had Wildcat highs of 13 points and seven rebounds.

The Buffaloes (16-10, 5-6 Big 12) face the likely new No. 1 Kansas Jayhawks next Saturday, Feb. 19. They have no weekday game on the schedule this week.
