The Colorado Buffaloes (4-2) are coming off of a thrilling 70-68 comeback win over the Georgia Bulldogs on Monday, and they'll be looking to keep that momentum rolling Wednesday night when they travel to Fort Collins to take on the Colorado State Rams (4-2). The Rams, meanwhile, last played eight days ago, when they defeated the Manhattan Jaspers 91-86 in overtime. For the Buffs, a victory would extend their current win streak to four games, while the Rams are surely looking avenge last year's 90-83 overtime defeat to Colorado.
The Buffs have been led in scoring by senior guard Carlon Brown, who is averaging 15.2 points per game on the season, but it could be argued that their most important player is sophomore guard Andre Roberson, who is averaging a double-double on the season (11.2 ppg, 12.0 rpg) and who has snatched twice as many rebounds per game as any other Buffalo. The scoring load for the Rams falls on the shoulders of junior guard Wes Eikmeier who is averaging 17.0 points per game on the season, though where this game might turn is in the teams' three point shooting, as the Rams are shooting 44% from downtown as a team, compared to Colorado's 37%.
