The Colorado Buffaloes needed a good start against the Utah Utes on Friday if they wanted to compete in the game, and that they did. The Buffs took the opening drive 80 yards on 12 plays to scored a touchdown. Quarterback Tyler Hansen found the end zone on a one-yard run for the touchdown, his third rushing touchdown of the season, for the 7-0 lead.
Hansen found Paul Richardson twice on the drive for a total of 28 yards, 19 on one play. Hansen also found Ryan Deehan for a 20-yard pass play that put the team at the Utes' 11-yard line. Running back Rodney Stewart picked up 10 yards on the ground before Hansen took the ball in for the score. That touchdown run was really more like six inches than one yard.
