The Colorado Buffaloes spent the weekend playing in the Puerto Rico Tip-off tournament; they lost a consolation bracket game to the Maryland Terrapins, 78-71, on Saturday and then bounced back to defeat Western Michigan, 81-76, in the seventh place game. Andre Roberson led Colorado with 21 points against the Terps, while Carlon Brown led the team with 23 points against Western Michigan.
Colorado State returned home from the preseason NIT to host Southern Mississippi on Saturday and ended up overrun by a barrage of USM three-pointers. USM hit 7 of 12 three-point attempts in the first half and built a 47-28 halftime lead, and the Rams were never able to recover from that.
The Air Force Falcons cruised in their lone game over the weekend, a 65-37 win over visiting Western St. The Falcons defense held Western St. under 20 points in both halves of play. Kamryn Williams led Air Force with 10 points.
Northern Colorado lost to Northern Iowa on Sunday night, 78-69.
