Colorado Lands Verbal Commit From Small Forward Chris Jenkins

The Colorado Buffaloes landed their third basketball recruit for the 2012 class in small forward Chris Jenkins out of Detroit, Mich. Jenkins verbally committed to the Buffs this weekend during his visit. Jenkins is rated as a three-star recruit according to Rivals and picked Colorado over Central Michigan, Detroit, Duquesne, Eastern Michigan, Florida International and Morehead State. In high school Jenkins averaged 28 points as a junior and is expected to lead his high school team in scoring for the upcoming year.

Jenkins visited during parents weekend so he was able to talk to players parents as well about the program:

"It was parents' night at Colorado on Friday night when I got there so I talked to some of the players' parents and they all said Coach Boyle and the rest of the coaches are really good guys.

"I really feel like Colorado is the right choice. I was relieved to get it over with because the process is overwhelming.

"I am done. Colorado is where I want to be. I am glad to be done. I can't wait to sign with them next month."

Jenkins also mentioned that Colorado liked him because of how versatile he is and are impressed with his defense. Jenkins is listed at 6-foot-7, 185 pounds and could play up to three positions at Colorado, ranging from shooting guard to power forward.
