Last Saturday against the Arizona St. Sun Devils, Oregon Ducks quarterback Darron Thomas left the game with a sprained knee and his status for Saturday's game against the Colorado Buffaloes is in doubt. However, Thomas did tell reporters on Wednesday that he expect to play, reports John Henderson of the Denver Post.
Thomas' status has shifted the entire week, from doubtful to the recent "expects to play." Oregon coach Chip Kelly might want to play it safe by sitting Thomas for a week since the Buffaloes don't appear to be much of a challenge. Bryan Bennett would start in his place if that scenario arose.
Of course, it's also possible that Thomas will lead the Ducks to a huge halftime lead and lay just half of the game. But is it worth it to chance it for a couple of hours out there on the field?
Thomas has thrown 17 touchdowns to three interceptions this season and has 1,227 yards through the air.
